This is an exceptionally early Roger & Gallet “Fleurs du Passé” (Flowers of the Past) extrait, dating from circa 1901 to 1907. It is the original Belle Époque formulation, which predates the later 1922 reissue under the same name. The fragrance name was reused by Roger & Gallet after World War I, but this bottle is the pre-WWI version, identifiable by its early paper gilt-border label, the rare Paris 1900 Exposition Grand Prix medallion, and its hand-cut faceted ground-glass stopper. All of these features were found only on bottles made shortly after 1900. (SKU: 267497915393)
Measuring 4.25 inches tall, this is the classic 1-ounce (30ml) extrait size used during the first decade of the 20th century. The parfum has aged to a deep, near-black tone characteristic of natural early French extraits. Authentic examples from this era are extremely scarce, making this a highly collectible piece of Roger & Gallet’s pre-WWI perfume history.
